I thought it would be good if members got to know a little about each other and what they did on the web. I encourage you all to post a link to your WordPress powered website or blog here. Tell us a little about your site, what you are trying to achieve, how you would like to improve the website etc.

This will be a great way for us all to help each critique each others websites and share tips on how things could be changed or improved.

I'll start us off. My main WordPress website is WP Mods. I still like the design however I am keen on changing it next year as some aspects of the design are starting to look dated. For my next design, whether it is custom made or simply a modified premium theme, I'd like the design to use post formats and have all of the new features from WordPress integrated in the back end.

What's your website and how would you like to change it?

    Kevin
  2. My wordpress website is Geo Web Station, It is a Website dedicated to tutorials and demos of Jquery, AJAX, PHP, Web Design, MYSQL and everything related to building websites.

I am pretty satisfied with my current theme, but still want to change to something much better in 2012, may be a suitable premium theme would suffice.
Do suggest any good premium theme if you come across which would suit my website

AllergyWarningLabels - recent redesign for a cleaner homepage. Yet to satisfy the hoped improved in bounce rate
OneArmedGraphics - my personal site which is a mix of a blog for graphic design & chronic pain
Webdesign - subdomain of the above, my little WordPress web design offering. Suffering from 'never satisified' syndrome.

Fiverr minisite - another subdomain, concentrating on some of the awesome cheap Fiverr gigs I do on the side

I build everything with the iThemes 'Builder' framework. Still got lots of learn but no higher aspirations than the front-end stuff as I also lot of 3d work and graphic design... keeps me busy :)

I don't know where to start as there's so many premium themes out there. Is there specific functionality you are looking for on your site e.g. great typography, post format support or a gallery template?

I sent ithemes an email the other day to ask if they can provide access to a test area as I'd like to test ithemes builder out. A few people have spoke about how good it is.

I've noticed that theme before. It's actually one of the best selling designs on themeforest. Do you have a personal website too?
  6. I am looking for a premium theme which has all the features (or something similar to that) of tutplus network websites

The tutplus network has a great theme, I wish there was some premium theme that had the looks similar to it..Maybe Kevin would know of it.. :?

I actually found something better , the Vectors theme, looks quite much like Smashing Magazine and Tutsplus network sites.

Vectors theme is really an clean theme. It is of so high a quality in design that I don't think other premium themes provide.
  12. Thanks, This is amazing and looks quite suitable for my blog than the Vectors theme

But I found it does not support threaded comments, any similar theme with threaded comments ?

Others also please suggest more such themes (so that I can compare and find the best)
It will really be a great help

    Thanks, once again Kevin

I'm surprised it doesn't support threaded comments. It must not have been updated in a while. I recommend checking our archive of featured articles for more lists about magazine themes etc :)

    redesigned homepage last night http://webdesign.onearmedgraphics.com/
I'm much happier with it, need to sort out the overly dark shadows on the menu text. All the graphic elements are designed by me. The Google font needs tweaking as I'm getting inconsistent rendering across different browsers.
  15. Kevin Muldoon WordPress Fanatic!

I've not used Google fonts on any of my websites yet. Is different rendering a problem that occurs often?

For me, the content on the main page is too far down the page compared to other pages. I would suggest moving the portfolio rotating image down a bit and make the link for the portfolio open in the current tab rather than a new window.

    Thanks for the feedback Kevin.
The font issue is odd as it's only causing an issue with my portable Chrome version. Perhaps a bug with it rather than anything wrong with the font.

My main site is Total Bounty. It's actually a marketplace for people who buy and sell wordpress themes, plugins, as well as PSD templates. I'm just starting and hopefully I get to really attract people and encourage people to sign up. I can't seem to fix the forum yet but I hope I'd get to figure out what's wrong with it so I can allow members to discuss within the site with topics revolving around wordpress. I'd like to hear your thoughts on what you think should be improved on the site. Thanks!

My Wordpress site is: www.otwaysonline.com.au It is the theme Nightbrand and I'm reasonably happy with it.
Having a bit of a problem with it though. Might be a Wordpress problem - I'm not sure. I have added 86 menu items and I can't seem to add any more. When I try to save the new menu items they will not save????

My first ever Wordpress site was www.ScottishWeddingHQ.co.uk. I learnt a lot from it in terms of using themes and basic editing of stylesheets. I've just updated the theme as I'm trying to monetise the site now and needed it to look a bit fresher.

Another one I did for a client is www.CNJAS.co.uk. The theme itself is quite a complex one but the client wanted a much more basic setup so I literally stripped the thing out to create a simple site that was devoid of bells and whistles.

I try to build a new site every couple of weeks whether it's for a client or just for me learning how to use themes and the different back ends - the theme on www.WebsiteHQ.co.uk was really different as I had to install plugins in order to have an options menu and that was the first time I'd experienced that.

Everyday's a school day eh Kev!?
