Tokokoo have kindly donated a developer copy of their fantastic ecommerce design Olahraga (worth $129.90 and includes the original PSD theme). The design was created specifically for apparel ecommerce stores and features a huge amount of customisation options.

It comes in 6 colours (default, black, blue, green, purple, and grey), is optimised for use on mobile devices and comes has Facebook fan page integration. Click here to see the theme in action.

We have a lot of great competitions in the forums over the next few weeks in order to encourage people to sign up and participate in discussions.

To win a copy of the Olahraga theme, all you have to do is leave a comment in this thread with a suggestion as to how we can improve our competitions. It could be a suggestion to make competitions fairer, restrictions on how many times a winner can win or just a suggestion on how we could promote the competition better. Or perhaps a suggestion on what we can do for our next competition.

A winner will be chosen on Thursday 10th November 2011 so please have your suggestions in by Wednesday 9th November 2011. Due to the nature of this competition, I am happy for members to submit more than one suggestion though please ensure your suggestion is unique and doesn't imitate someone elses idea :)

    Good luck,
    Kevin

What about adding a poll? Maybe that would encourage some folks to comment on the results.

Create a WP Mods LinkedIn group. Also join relevant Wordpress groups. Promote the contest as a new discussion topic. Lots of Wordpress folks on LinkedIn.

Can you explain on this. I'm not sure what results you are talking about or what type of poll you are talking about :)

I think, first thing first about marketing this forum is make people know the existence of this forum
    1. Referral. More people invited, more chances to be a winner
+ it encourages people to invite more and more their friends to be a member of this forum
    - probably most of them are early adopter who just register them self and never visit the forum

    2. Most active member
+ it encourages people to be a member and post something here
    - probably there would be much junk posts or one line comments ( such as nice post, damn good post, thanks for your great article, etc )
    - `senior` members have a bigger chance to win

    3. Testimonial. Members could leave a testimonial for WPMods and then they will be chosen as a winner by the best comment or random
+ it makes you know what people expect / think about WPMods
    - Too easy

So far, those are my suggestions. Probably you could combine those three or add some rules. I leave the positive and negative thing that should be considered for each option. What your opinion ? :)

Suggestions to make the contests better?
    Consolidation of entry methods
On Facebook you just have to click like to enter, on here you have to comment to enter.
Does that mean the winner is picked from here or picked from Facebook or a winner from each media source?
If you pick from facebook do none of these comments count or if you pick from here do the facebook fans get shafted?
All just a bit confusing when one item is the prize but multiple pools of entries say they will be the pool picked from.
    IMHO.....

    There
There are two developer licenses to be won. One can be won by liking this status on Facebook and the other can be won by posting a suggestion in this thread. :)

Even cooler! Wasn't real clear. A winner from each pool of entrants is twice the fun.
  9. You can award the prize to the reply with the maximum number of likes (but a possible problem associated with that is last minute replies won't get a lot of likes)

restricting the number of prizes a member can win, might discourage him from taking part in future competitions, but putting a restriction that a given member can win a maximum of one competition per month looks much better.

Also looking forward for more domain give away competitions and also may be you can give away premium plugins as prizes as well.

I like Praveens idea of premium plugins as well. Lots of great plugins out there I'd love to try full-featured but don't have the $$$ to plunk down

I'd like the idea of premium plugins, but I love premium themes more. It's an easy way to save money if you live in deep s*** country like me :)

You can use the RaffleCopter plug-in to arrange the giveaway. It's a great plug-in..

I think that this was by far the best suggestion. I have contacted Tokokoo on your behalf to ask if they can email you your prize :)

I think you the points you raised about your suggestions are correct. Most active member encourages quantity but no quality. I think a best post award would be better. A referral competition is something that could work - people could use Twitter, Facebook or their website to refer new members.
