Today I'd like to give you all the chance of winning the 4 letter domain name Wune.net. Instead of just randomly selecting someone as a winner, I thought we good have a discussion content. A discussion contest is pretty straight forward. A question is posed and the member who posts the best reply wins the prize.

Question: What is the most important feature of WordPress and why?

Please only reply once and please ensure that your reply is unique.

The member with the best post will be chosen on Wednesday 16th November 2011 so please ensure you participate before then :)

    Good luck,
    Kevin

The ability to extend it with plugins

You can almost do anything with WordPress, because there are so many plugins.

Wow...this is one really hard question.

I guess that it's most important feature would have to be the flexibility it possesses. Some people say that WP evolved from a blog script into a CMS one. I think it simply evolved into a all-in-one. With some work, an extended theme can turn it into a forum, wiki, Q&A website and so much more. With all the plugins and possibilities, Wordpress is simply astonishing. So yeah, I think that from all the features it possesses, the flexibility of Wordpress is by far the best I have ever seen.

The best feature of wordpress is You can do anything with wordpress like ecommerce site, static page site, blogs, product landing page, directory site, classified site, image gallary, article submission site, forum, membership site etc.

I like this feature of wordpress most because you can make any type of website from it. :)

I think the most important feature of Wordpress that I surely could not live without would be its Out of the box admin dashboard...there is something about the Wordpress admin dashboard that no other CMS dashboard has, you can control each an every function right through the admin dashboard. The best part is there is no great learning curve as to know how to handle stuffs through the admin panel and a newbie can within a few days get familiar with it.

Undoubted Simplicity, designed for everyone.. A major reason why 60 mn blogs are powered by WordPress now..
  9. I think wordpress has made possible anyone with the least programming language to get their website or blog up and running.
Bringing more and more people on to the internet is what I think is the best feature of Wordpress

    One word: Customization!

You can customize every aspect of Wordpress. Is the admin panel too complex for you? Fine! Let me trim it down to essential components. Is the design not good enough? Not a problem! Let me make it right.

Like this, each and every aspect and file of Wordpress can be customized to one's liking. That is what make Wordpress the most popular CMS of the world. :)

Don't want to repeat what has been said above, so I will say this: It is very important that WP has become so familiar to users end . It's a dream for admins, of course, but it's a great, great thing that all but the most unsophisticated end-users can find their way around a plain-vanilla WP site. Right out of the box, you have a site that is familiar and comfortable for even Grandma and Grandpa.

For many millions of end-users, WP is what a "normal" website looks like.

This was a difficult one for me to judge as there were a lot of great responses but I have decided that this was the best comment. I used lots of different CMS's for years, depending on what I needed for a project. For the last few years I have only used WordPress due to it's flexibility and ability to be extended.

George - I will pm you details of how you can claim your prize.

    Thanks to everyone who entered.

    Kevin
