Parallax is a simple yet beautiful free portfolio WordPress theme from resource website Media Loot.
The main feature is the striking photo slider on the homepage which moves to the next image after a few seconds. Thhe thumbnails for all the slider images are displayed underneath.
The portfolio page template is really good. The full size image is displayed when the user clicks on the thumbnail and they can Retweet the photo via Twitter of like the image through Facebook.
The sidebar is widgetised but there aren’t really any more features than that; Parallax is a very simplistic design. It does packaged with a very basic options page. This is where you set the images for the home page slider. You can also add code to the header and footer from here and can set the description, text and URL for the action button too. In the demo this can be seen in action at the bottom of the page where the ‘Download Now’ button is displayed.
There are much more advanced premium portfolio templates available out there however Parallax is a great option for those of you who don’t want to hand over any money.
