Big isn’t always beautiful. The Common Blog is a free minimalistic design from Plebeian that is perfect for those are looking for something very basic.
At first glance the theme looks a bit dated however it was designed with WordPress 3.1 in mind so has support for post thumbnails, post formats, custom backgrounds, widgets and menus. They are also adding support for custom header images and and editor style feature that shows the content in the editor as it will be displayed on the live page.
It may be a basic design however the common blog is ideal for those who are looking for something simplistic. Worth checking out
